http://zennie2005.blogspot.com/2009/08/parkwar-theater-cerrito-theater.html – http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/blogs/abraham/detail??blogid=95&entry_id=45077 – In the ongoing saga of the Parkway and Cerrito theaters in Oakland and El Cerrito respectively we have read or heard the views of many people over the past seven months except two: Catherine and Kyle Fisher, who created both the Parkway Theater in Oakland, California and the Cerrito Theater in El Cerrito, California. I was honored to be given the exclusive first video interview with the Fishers over brunch at the Lakeshore Cafe in Oakland.

So now it’s working …
So now it’s working. You are the one with the public platform to say whatever you want. I’m a private citizen writing something only a handful of people will read, other than you. I care about the theater, went to meetings and listened. You, on the other hand, are a blogger, pretending to be a reporter, who doesn’t ask questions. That is cowardice or laziness. I would hope you’d take some responsibility for presenting the whole story. That’s your job, not mine.

I’ve been trying to …
I’ve been trying to respond to your question for several days and youtube doesn’t seem to accept them anymore.

What’s the deal …
What’s the deal with the comments? Why not present – in person with your name – what you know? Why are you being a coward?

The “city website” …
The “city website” does not say anything about the Agency giving the Fishers money as you imply. Why not show us otherwise? Thanks.

And as long as …
And as long as you’re asking them about the lawsuit, ask them why they trashed the Cerrito and didn’t pay rent for 18 months. The Cerrito was nice when it opened and smelled like the Parkway when it closed.
And did you ask them if they read anything, like eviction notices, or anything they sign, like leases? (An attorney? really?)

Lying liars and the …
Lying liars and the lies they tell.
The Fischers stole money from El Cerrito. All you have to do is read the City’s website instead of eating omelettes with these clowns.
The Fischers took construction funds from the City and then never paid the contractor. (That’s called fraud.) The contractor sued. The only way they could get the money to pay the contractor and settle the lawsuit was to sell their equipment to the City. So no, they don’t own anything in the theater.

We should all thank …
We should all thank the Fischers: they had vision and courage, and the cities of Oakland and El Cerrito are better off today because of it.
