nowadays, unfortunately, its not that labrie’s going in different directions, its more that with age he’s becoming more limited and the more rock side of labrie’s voice is coming close to retirement. and the portnoy duet stuff simply supoorts his voice on long and high note chorus’s and such plus adds to the progressiveness
if DT’s next album was as heavy (vocal wise) as it was 15 years ago, can you imagine how much labrie would struggle on tour?
