As a great fan of Dream Theater, here’s my medley of the entire systematic chaos album. I tried to play all the parts as close as Portnoy did it in the album. What was difficult about this video, beside learning all the parts of course, was to play and record it in only one take. That’s what i wanted to accomplished because it’s every crazy parts of this entire album. This 20 minute song is like a drum marathon. Because it’s too long to be only one video, you’ll have to watch part 2/2 which is, for me, MY FAVORITE. I hope you’ll enjoy it!

Constant motion, …
Constant motion, but the hardest part was from 4:19 through 4:30. But the part I like to play the most is TMOLS.

It’s very important that the first three strokes are close and then the last one with left hand is separate from them.
You have 2 32nd notes and 2 16th notes.
If you have any questions, or if my explanation is not really good… which is possible… i’ll try to figure out a way to eplain it clearer.

How do you do the fill on minute 6:43 its like a flam or you just push the notes together ¿? is there any sticking ?
I know its a silly question but since the score DVD Im trying to find out how its done, And the way I do it ,dosnt sound to me like it
Any advice will be great
