Les Paul and Tallan Latz @ Pabst Theater 6/21/08
Posted on February 8th, 2010 by admin
Tallan (age
had the honor and privledge to play with the Legend himself, Mr. Les Paul at the Pabst Theater for a charity event for the Les Paul’s House of Sound exhibit. The exhibit is on display at Discovery World in Milwuakee, WI.
Tallan was not aware that Les would ask him what he wanted to play. Tallan thought Les was going to play something and he would just join in. Not the case but he still pulls it off.

@Olpaj man …you …
@Olpaj man …you are right every guitarrist start plaing with blues… is much easyer to improvise… and speed metal or tech death metal/melodeath are difficult to improvise ’cause u need a lot of technique and speed also control and soul to make it sounds good.

Let’s no forget …
Let’s no forget that anybody can copy the likes of Mike Portnoy, John Petrucci, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Herman Li, and so on. But to play the blues in general, you need a soul. And this kid has it. Like what Crossroads say.. you can’t play blues unless ya from mississippi, boy.. And this kid has something that 20-year olds are able to achieve.. He blows my mind away. This is pure talent. I’m amazed.

The kid was …
The kid was extremely nervous. He was NOT expecting to be asked to do a solo: how would YOU react in his shoes, at age 8 or 9?

His follks aren’t …
His follks aren’t pushing him: they say he can quit any time he wants! A lot of the kids you refer to don’t have a life: this one does!

Someone commented …
Someone commented that not being able to tune a guitar makes one retarded. My comment is this: it depends on the instrunment! Some LITERALLY cannot stay in tune throughout the tuning process! Tuning one chord often changes other chords that have already been tuned: tuning can be a lengthy process in that case, and irritating!
scooter, maybe aim for a better guitar…

“I wouldn’t hold …
“I wouldn’t hold back if I was able to duel I would melt his face and all it would take is a sg standard, behringer 60×2 watt a bottle of Jim Beam and a grunge pedal”
You wouldn’t NEED the J.B. and a grunge pedal to compete if you had talent!!! I would SO love to see this person and Tallon on a Youtube video having a genuine duel: totally acoustic, random song selected by a person who has nothing to gain, and BOTH unfamiliar with the specific guitar used. Bet the 8 year old kid would win!

Remember, they …

I watched an interview with him here on Youtube. His dad states in it that he IS an average kid – except when he’s on stage! He said Tallan loves playing at the playground, like any other kid!

This kid rocks! I …
This kid rocks! I bet he was kinda thrown off by Les Paul asking him what key his song was in. Maybe he doesn’t know much about music in that way… but hey, neither did Stevie Ray Vaughan.
Keep it up, T-Man! Lucky you, getting to play beside the lengendary Les Paul!
