So for the better part of the last year I have been touring with the Missoula Children’s Theatre and their adaptation of “The Little Mermaid.” The way the company works is that each week we arrive in a new town, hold auditions, and cast around 60 local children in an hour-long musical, which we teach them and they then perform. What’s really neat is that although we are in the show with the kids, they have the lead roles and do most of the work.
This number is one of my favorites, as it involves the Seahorses. The Seahorse part is designed for children age 5 to 7, and is quite simply one of the cutest things I’ve ever seen. If you don’t think this is cute, you have no soul.
This is one of the best Seahorse groups I’ve had on the road. This video is from a dress rehearsal we had in April 2008 in Spruce Grove, Alberta (yep, in Canada).
