Is it true that movie theaters put ads for the concession stand in the middle of the movie?

Somebody told me that in movie theaters, they put flash a screen in the middle of the movie that says, "go to the concession stand now". Apparently the ad flashes so quickly that you don’t consciously notice it, but subconsciously you want popcorn all of a sudden.
I have a hard time believing this – you’d think some people would notice it… so is it true?
I wouldn’t be surprised, but I do know there is a lot of product placement in movies. I worked for United Parcel Service and was approached many times to have our products in a movie for a fee. So subliminal messages are not new and very possible.

I don’t know about that. But they do pick up popcorn off the floor and put it back to serve to people. And they never clean the nacho cheese thingy.

No, theaters don’t do that. In fact that would be against contract violation with the studio because they would be hampering with the film. And yes you would notice if something like that flashed up on the screen. One frame takes up 1/24 of a second and while that seems small, it is definitely noticeable if the screen flashes up a random picture of popcorn.
And to the poster before me, THEATERS DONT PICK UP POPCORN OFF THE FLOOR AND RESERVE IT!!!! Thats gross, maybe YOU did and your a terrible person but theaters in general dont do that.
