Why are movie theater employees allowed to see a free movie?

Posted on February 27th, 2010 by admin

Everytime I see a movie, employees just stand there and do nothing! They arnt sweeping or cleaning up or anything and they stand for the entire movie and see a free movie at a theater and not have to pay! Why is that? It drives me crazy. I wish I had a job like them where I can watch new movies everyday and not pay!

I worked for a theatre owner and one of the benefits was getting into movies free. However, I was not allowed to do this while "on the clock".

My guess would be that these employees are either "staging" for when the movie ends, so they can turn a theatre around in short time, or they’re slacking. Either way, it’s not a concern of yours unless they obviously disrupt your moviegoing experience.

If they’re slacking on the job, it’s a problem for their manager- not you.
