what are the cards that display show times at the movie theater?

Posted on June 24th, 2010 by admin

I wanted to know what those cards are called. Some theaters have them at their ticket box. They have a picture from the movie (usually a smaller version of a poster) and underneath it they display the times for that movie. The also have them inside the theater. They jut out in the hallway on a sign that says the theater room number and shows a small movie title card to let you know which theater to go to.

If you work in a theater or just know the answer please let me know.
Thanks!

They’re called "mylars."

I would just call it something generic like a showtime schedule or movie listing. There’s probably some obscure word for it, but I’ll bet if you started saying it you’d get a lot of people going, "Whazzat?".
