tips for childrens theatre?

Posted on March 3rd, 2010 by admin

im working on this unit in grade 11 drama…and i could really use some tips from any experienced actors out there

A good play to work on would be Sondheim’s "Into the Woods". "Into the Woods" intermingles most of the fairy tale characters of the Brothers Grimm into a clever and deep concept, incorporating the many facets and themes of childhood and the raising of children. Basically, this whole play is about children.

If you use this material and if in your report you do not give me credit for being the source of itl you are cheating.

Children’s theatre (plays for audiences of children) should be exaggerated and played directly to the audience. should include audience participation should be about fairy tale characters, kings, princesses, witches, and the like. should be colorful in costume and setting, should appeal to adults as well as young audiences.
