What do movie theaters do with old movie standees?
Posted on March 5th, 2011 by admin
Does anyone who just might know or who works at a movie theater know what the theaters do with old standees, cutouts, cardboard setups, etc. when the movie has finished its theater run? I absolutely LOVEE the Easy A standee (where you can stand in the spot and take a picture) and was wondering if there was any possible way I could get my hands on one somehow. If anyone knows I would love any answers. THANK YOU!!
Most places just throw them out. Or if one of the employees ask for it. Best bet is ask someone who works there or even a manager (depending on the type of theatre they might have a different way of getting rid of it) if they can hold it for you and keep checking back.
We asked Alonso Duralde, a man who’s literally written a book on gay cinema, to give us the history of lesbians in film in three minutes or less. A frequent guest reviewer for The Rotten Tomatoes Show, Duralde explains how indie movies like 1985’s “Desert Hearts” eventually expanded the portrayal of lesbian characters in American movies beyond double-crossing, homicidal vampires.
The Other Guys Official Movie Trailer – In Theaters 8/6/2010

In 1995, everyone had a VCR, music was sold in record stores, and the world-wide-web was a new found discovery. Businessman Jack Harris (Luke Wilson) had the perfect life — a beautiful family and a successful career fixing problem companies. Then he met Wayne Beering (Giovanni Ribisi) and Buck Dolby (Gabriel Macht), two genius but troubled men, who had invented the way adult entertainment is sold over the internet. When Jack agrees to help steer their business, he soon finds himself caught between a 23 year-old star and the FBI all the while becoming one of the wealthiest entrepreneurs of his time. Witness a story so outrageous, you won’t believe it’s true. A story that proves business is a lot like sex… getting in is easy, pulling out is hard.
