What do movie theaters do with their movie posters when a movie is no longer playing at the theater?

Posted on March 12th, 2011 by admin

You know the movie posters that some theaters still post outside each theater at a movie theater.
Can I ask for one or can they give it to me at a low price when a movie is done playing?
What do they do with them?

They give their employees first pick.

If you ask (and I have on several occasions) they are more than willing to give them away after their employees have picked through them. That’s how I get my movie posters :D

If no one claims them, they are thrown away.

You would go to guest services to rent a device for the hearing impaired, or to
request a refund or maybe to purchase a theatre gift card.

Just about anything other than purchase a ticket or buy from snack bar.
They handle complaints, lost items, found items, etc.

How do I get appropriate licensing for movie theater releases?

Posted on February 3rd, 2011 by admin

I’m planning on building a local movie theater and am stuck on how to obtain the appropriate film licensing in order to receive permission to view new movies. Please help me. Thanks.

You need to talk to your local council to get the appropriate entertainment license, and the major film distributors to get the films.

How can I write about a movie theater job on my resume to make it entice employers?

Posted on January 21st, 2011 by admin

I’m trying to strengthen my resume, but when I get to the job I used to have at a movie theater, I’m not sure what to write about it. I wasn’t there long enough to receive a promotion, and I don’t really want to just list a boring job description.

How can I write about this position to make it appealing to future employers?

Just tell them you worked as a "Cinematic Facilitation Technician."

First movie at a movie theater in your lifetime when you were younger. For me it was "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom" back in 1984.
