Where can I find a really good comic monologue for preteens and teens?

i need a monolouge for an audition but it has to be kid friendly since its a childrens theatre group.

Robert Munsch adapted his book "The Paper Bag Princess" into a play which is narrated by the Princess herself — it’s both funny and kid friendly and offers lots of opportunities to show how inventive you are.

I love theater, and singing.

Right now I have an associates degree in English. But I wanna switch, how much do theater directors/vocal instructers/acting… etc make an hour?

What shoudl I major in? Only at my University that I’m going to transfer too they offer Vocal Performance, and other such music programs but no acting… ? So what should I do?

My mother is kind of against me doing any theater stuff because she thinks it isn’t reliable.

But I wanna do this so much.

Tell your mum that you appreciate her concern but this is your life. They always require people with musical talent so your courses would not be a waste of time.What about joining a local theatre group?

you don’t need to major in anything. do drama classes and school plays. do local theater for experience, their open calls. take some professional acting and drama classes. do student and ind.
films for experience.

Why are all childrens books being made into a movie lately?

Or books in general, I mean every movie that comes out I look it up and it says "based on the book" but now children’s books especially like Ramona & Beezus just went into theatres and now I just found out Judy Moody is going to be made into a movie….what’s next Junie B. Jones??

Because Hollywood is a copycat industry. If something makes money, Hollywood rides it until they run it into the ground.

I need to know where and when childrens’ theatre started. Or any information about very old childrens’ theatre. European, Asian, anything.

It’s a word problem. Must solve using substitution. I’m not sure how to set it up.

Altogether 568 tickets were sold to a play. An adult ticket cost $5 and $2 for a childrens ticket. Total ticket sales were $2,345. The theater manager expects to sell the same number of each type of ticket for the next production, but wants to increase total sales to$3, 554 by raising adult admission. What is the new cost for the adult ticket?

OK, so call adult ticket a, and child ticket c

a + c = 568 (altogether 568 tickets were sold)
5a + 2c = 2345 (total ticket sales were $2345)

Multiply first equation by 2
2a + 2c = 1136
5a + 2c = 2345

Subtract eq1 from eq 2
2a + 2c = 1136
3a = 1209
a = 403
568 tickets were sold altogether, so, 403 + c = 568
c = 165

This is actually a two part problem. So,
the theater manager wants to keep the child price the same, but increase the adult price so as to get
403 adultprice + 165 $2 = $3554 So,
403 adultprice + $330 = $3554
403 adultprice = $3224
adultprice = 3224/403 = $8.00

The theater manager has to increase the price of an adult ticket to $8.00.
