What was the FIRST movie you remember ever watching at a movie theater?

First movie at a movie theater in your lifetime when you were younger. For me it was "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom" back in 1984.

"Inception"; is there big difference between watching it in theater/cinema and watching it on DVD?

Posted on December 26th, 2010 by admin

I haven’t seen it yet. I have heard that it has good special effects, but are special effects LONG enough to watch them in cinema/theater instead of waiting and watching the movie on DVD?
The movie’s DVD will be released next month.

Thanks

For Inception the answer is YES.
There is certainlly a big difference between watching it in Cinema and DVD.
Inception is full with special effects and sound effects, and it is also mind blowing, surely a much bigger screen would help to look for details and clues to understand the movie better.
Well, unless you have a big TV with a high-end home theater at home, then it wouldn’t be too different. (^_^)

I personally watched it 3 times in theater, and will buy the DVD too. I think 95% viewer needs to view the movie more than once (either they couldn’t get it at the first viewing, or just to really get the whole thing and catch more details). Maybe you can watch it once in theater, and later watch it again on DVD to prove/check your theories after you get more facts and details.

SPOILERS on the links bellow, DO NOT OPEN before you watch Inception.
This might help to answer some questions after you saw it. (^_^)v

In the UK – does anyone know where I can find old theatres and cinemas for sale?

Posted on December 20th, 2010 by admin

I have a passion for old cinema and theatre buildings and would love to own and renovate one. Does anyone know where I can find listings for these kind of buildings? I have googled but not much joy. Also, does anyone know anything about lottery grants or funding to renovate such things?
Thanks

Do you have the thousands of pounds needed for the purchase of such a building? Lottery funding is supposedly for special needs projects whereas your project is merely a hobby

The Gardians of Ga’hoole Showtimes and Listings?

Posted on December 18th, 2010 by admin

Is The Legend of the Guardians going to be in every theater? I ask because the last movie I wanted to see was Flipped(they said it was only in select theaters) and the only theater that was showing it was quiet some ways away from me :( . I really loved the book series when I was in elementary so im wondering if there is another way I can see it if it’s not going nationwide.(something LEGAL please lol).

Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole

There is no way to know which theaters will show a certain film without checking with them in person, by phone or online. It’s up to them.

It will however have a very wide release.

Why isn’t 127 Hours being shown in my theater?

Posted on December 16th, 2010 by admin

One of the movies I’ve been most excited about seeing was 127 Hours, and the release date was November 5th. I went to check the movie listings this morning to decide on a time to go, and it wasn’t listed. I checked on the other theater near me and it didn’t have it either. Both are Marcus Theaters. Is this movie not showing in the majority of theaters, and if so why isn’t it? From all I’ve been hearing it’s supposed to be fantastic, so it baffles me why it wouldn’t be in my theater! Anyone?

The director is Danny Boyle so this is a film in the UK meaning it wont be release until later………….huge upset for me too.

What is a good college or university for theater and singing?

Posted on December 14th, 2010 by admin

Your Question
What is a good college or university for theater and singing?
I’m not well informed on colleges or universities but I know I want to pursue theater and be trained in singing. What colleges are there that thoroughly train in both? Or would it be easier to go to college for one and hire a professional coach for the other.

I’ve heard Columbia in Chicago is a really good fine arts college

How should I arrange home theater system around fireplace?

Posted on December 12th, 2010 by admin

I would like to buy a 5.1 home theater system and a LED TV. My desired place to watch it is in family room with a fireplace. I know I could hang the TV above fireplace but not sure about the home theater (Blue ray DVD player, receiver and speakers). I would also like the wires be concealed.

Thanks.

Use a private company, thasts what I did in my house for ALL my televisions / my home theater. Not sure where you live but the company i used was dhdpros.com | Private companies will never rip you off and generally use the greatest technology. (my house uses a program called "Control 4" i can turn off my kids’ bedroom lights / TVs from the basement.)

And also, the fire won’t affect it. If you want a picture of my hearth room ill send you one.
