What are the costs to build a small cinema?

Posted on April 29th, 2010 by admin

This question concerns public commercial movie cinemas / theaters and their costs.

First question would be where is it located? Then, what is the average land cost? Once you have the area and the land cost you can generally get an average cost per square foot relating to the type of building you are going to construct through your local Chamber of Commerce or Building Trades offices or a local Architect.

What is the best valued home theater in a box system?

Posted on April 29th, 2010 by admin

I am looking to add a budget home theater system for my Panasonic TC-P46G15 Plasma HDTV. I am looking to spend between $200-$400. I realize the sound won’t be as good limiting myself in price, but I am not an audiophile.

Most home theater in a box are not flexible in adding other equipment later on fro the upgrade. The best is a separate receiver and speakers or a combination. Take a look at the Pioneer VSX-519V-K from Best Buy for $199, it is a 5.1 receiver, or an Onkyo HT-S5200 a 7.1 receiver and a 7.1 speaker set up for under $500. Also take a look at the Yamaha 5.1 YHT-391BL for $299 at Best Buy, it is a receiver and 5.1 speaker set up. Add a blu ray disc player from Panasonic BD-60 for under $200, Costco has it for about $149 and comes with a 90 days return policy and an extra year of factory warranty. Hope this will help you out.

does anybody know a well-known play/musical?

Posted on April 29th, 2010 by admin

does anybody know a well-known play in which there is a main character that is about 15ish years old that has to do with childrens theatre – including some 2-beat oklahoma-ish style songs?preferably a musical – i need this info for an audition i am doing.

you can just put like a list of the plays that you know down- a small summary would be nice, tho.

here are two examples:
"annie get your gun"
"you’re a good man, charlie brown"

but i need other plays – as many as you know.
thank you soo much!!!
doesnt have to be exactly fifteen – anywhere from 14 – 22ish is fine
and it should be an upbeat/funny musical

Try:

Anne of Green Gables – Anne Shirley
A Little Night Music – Anne Egerman
Aspects of Love – Jenny Dillingham
Bat Boy – Shelley Parker
Bye Bye Birdie – Kim MacAfee
Bugsy Malone – Blousey
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang – Jemima Potts
Gypsy – June or Louise
Meet Me in St. Louis – Esther Smith
Music Man – Zaneeta Shinn
No, No Nanette – Nanette
Once On This Island – Ti Moune
Paint Your Wagon – Jennifer Rumson
Peter Pan – Wendy
The Boyfriend – Polly Browne
Wizard of Oz – Dorothy
Westside Story – Maria

The problem with Annie Get Your Gun is that there is no 15 year old lead like you requested. The above listed shows all have roles for your age.

good luck finding what you’re looking for!

Where can I find a sample business plan for a discount movie theater?

Posted on April 29th, 2010 by admin

I am doing a project on opening a discount movie theater and want to see a sample business plan for a discount movie theater or a movie theater in general. Possibly for the Beaufort and BLuffton, SC area. If not, anywhere will do.
I want to know the step by step sections and what to include in each section.

Try bplans.com. As I recall when I was looking for sample biz plans, they had tons of them…

Are there any childrens theaters in the Hartford area with open auditions?

Posted on April 27th, 2010 by admin

I am really interested in acting, and I would like to be in a local play but I do not want to have to go to a class to audition. Please help!
I HAVE TAKEN CLASSES BEFORE- I AM EXPERIENCED!!!!!!!!!

unless you have a little training and know what to expect and do on an audition, your not ready for one. you at least need some initial classes to learn how to go about things. look in your phone book for community theaters. their open calls. not all theater projects involve children, you will
need to keep checking back with the theaters. if your near any colleges with a film program,
try student film work.
