When will the new Maya Cinema Theater open in San Bernardino? (Old Cinema Star)?

Posted on January 30th, 2010 by admin

The old movie theater in San Bernardino that used to be Cinema Star on 4th and E street, in downtown, is being refurbished. When will this whole project be complete? I looked it up online and it says it was supposed to open during the Holiday season 2009. It is now Jan 2010. Or am i just impatient? Is this MAYA theater still even going to happen? There aren’t any articles about it online. Please, those of you who know please andwer.
Thanks ;)

I am waiting on the same thing. Can’t find an articles about it either.

In what ways did Shakespearean and modern theater influence the world?

Posted on January 30th, 2010 by admin

I’m doing a report comparing and contrasting how Shakespeare’s theater and modern theater influences certain areas like politics, culture, technology, etc. What are good topics to look into? So far I’m only using how it influences the world socially. What else would work well?

Well…every child studies at least one shakespeare play in school. Most of the world knows the story of Romeo and Juliet.

What time should I get on line to see "Avatar"?

Posted on January 30th, 2010 by admin

I have midnight tickets for tonight at Loews Lincoln Square in NYC. It is considered the only ‘true" Imax theater in the city. Since "Avatar" is one of the biggest releases of the year, I want to get on line at a good time. I’ve heard people were lined up to see it since last night; I’m not sure if that means they lined up to purchase tickets or if they are already on line to watch the movie almost a full day before the first screening.. What should I do?

If you have tickets for tonights showing, I would dress warmly and head on over to the theater, now. Reason being is if people are already lining up to see it – and the story made the news – that means there are lots of people there who want to see it. This is a movie that doesn’t have to pay too much to get publicity, if you get my drift, so if people are already lining up for tonights show, I guess that means you’ll be outside for quite some time. As I said before, dress warmly, take a thermos of coffee or hot cocoa and you should be fine.

How can I get my community theater more publicity?

Posted on January 30th, 2010 by admin

I’ve been actively helping out there for the past four years with tech, acting, set design, waitressing there, etc. I want to become a board member, and show that I have what it takes. I need to show that not only can I do shows but I can benefit the theater with money and possible get them more publicity. And ideas?

I would first of all get a good advertisement for the theater’s shows and seasons, make sure you have a website, of course posters, and maybe if you can, ask a local news station about a television commercial. If this isn’t enough, I know my theater company has regular live shows around the community for free, to act as a teaser to get more publicity and people to come to our shows. Ask about performing at local fairs, festivals, anywhere!
